#KidneysMatter
For 2021’s World Kidney Day, the major kidney charities and professional organisations in the UK are working together to raise awareness of just how big an issue kidney disease is. It’s not a disease that affects only a handful of people; one in nine worldwide have it. Your neighbour could have it. Your parent. Your work colleague. Your child. Help us shout it from the rooftops.
Our new campaign #KidneysMatter – the topic that’s too BIG to ignore will show how important kidneys are, what can happen when they go wrong and how to keep them healthy and reduce the risk of kidney disease.
The Covid-19 pandemic means face-to-face events can’t happen but that doesn’t stop you from helping us spread the word from home.
What will you see?
#KidneysMatter features a big yellow kidney - which is hard to ignore. You’ll see it in a range of materials which you can share on social media, use to run virtual awareness events, and as a talking point with your friends and family. And we’ll be working with people who can help get the message out as wide as we can, including the media and the kidney community.
We would love it if you got involved, and there are a range of materials for you to use and ways to help us spread the word. These are available on the World Kidney Day website and include entering the BIG kidney competition to win £250 vouchers, sharing the World Kidney Day background on your video calls and colouring in a printable kidney to display in your window.
