Kidney Care UK has partnered with Anglian Water to ensure those living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) receive additional support from both organisations; approximately 10,000 patients in the Anglian region rely on dialysis, be that in their homes or in hospital.
If you are an Anglian Water customer and you have CKD you can reach their dedicated support team on 0800 232 1962.

Laurie Cuthbert, Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Comms at Kidney Care UK, said: "This is an exciting partnership to transform the support our kidney community will receive in the Anglian region. We are pleased to be working in partnership with Anglian Water to help support more people with chronic kidney disease to enable them to receive support appropriate to their condition. Crucially, being able to call a dedicated number and know that the person who answers understands kidney disease, dialysis and the impact this has on your life will be incredibly reassuring for Anglian Water customers who have kidney disease."
Beth Kennedy, Customer Services Partnerships Manager for Anglian Water, said: “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to work in partnership with Kidney Care UK to help reach more customers living with kidney disease. In our region, approximately 870,000 people have Chronic Kidney Disease, which presents a vast opportunity to build awareness about the support that we can provide to our customers through this partnership. If home dialysis is the right treatment for someone with kidney failure, Anglian and Kidney Care UK want to make sure they know about the extra help available. One example is through our Watersure tariff, which is one of the discounted tariffs we offer through our Extra Care Support and is likely to benefit those on home dialysis as it puts a cap on the amount a customer pays for their water.”
In addition to financial support, Anglian Water provide free practical support in the form of their Priority Service Register. They provide many service offerings including proactive contact in the event of an incident and a knock and wait service, which means they’ll wait a little longer to give customers extra time to answer the door. Kidney patients who require water for home dialysis rely on the constant supply of water, so in the event of a planned disruption (maintenance) they could be at risk of harm if the dialysis is disrupted. By signing up to the Priority Services Register, Anglian Water will proactively contact those effected so alternative arrangements for treatment can be made.
