We are delighted to see that Kernow CCG have listened to our request for an immediate pause to implementation of their plan to make many kidney patients pay for transport to access their life saving treatment.
Fiona Loud, Policy Director said, "We have not yet resolved this issue fully but are pleased that the CCG has listened to our written request for an immediate pause, and are meeting with senior members of the CCG next week to discuss next steps. This is the result of the efforts of so many people that we have been working with, from worried patients, the hospitals and in particular the local MPs who have written to the CCG echoing our concerns.
We are determined to do everything possible to ensure that the decision to charge patients for transport is reversed".
